Trigger Warning: Birth Trauma Real Story

Referred by midwifery; mum spontaneously goes into labour and baby was born before the paramedics arrived. The scene in the bedroom was a bloodbath and an unresponsive baby. The decision was made to blue light the baby without mum to a hospital about an hour away with the parents left not knowing what was happening. By the time they got any news, the hospital staff said they had to medically reduce the temperature of the baby to save its life. Thankfully, all ended well. However, this left mum emotionally stuck in her trauma and unable to move forward. Home-Start Wessex met the family and offered support so that mum could attend specialist therapy. By the end of support, the family had moved house to make new memories and now happily attend local groups.
