The cost-of-living crisis is a disaster for millions of families with young children and we need you to support our Cost-of-Living Crisis appeal today so Home-Start can provide families with compassionate, non-judgemental support, because childhood can’t wait for the economy to recover.
“We’re now coming to the last two weeks of the month and we’ve no money left. I’ve counted out Layla’s nappies and I’m hoping we have enough to see us, until I can get some more.”
After years of pressure, many families are already at breaking point and we are worried this will push them further into crisis.
Parents have told us how they are worried because they can’t afford to heat their homes, and are missing meals so they can buy nappies and food for their babies. Please give whatever you can, even a small amount will make a huge difference in preventing the suffering facing families this winter.
Our network of dedicated volunteers are providing emotional support to parents whose worries about finance are adding of the challenges of post-natal depression, isolation, physical health problems, bereavement. Our weekly groups provide families with a warm, friendly space to visit, and we are working with other local organisations to make sure the families we support get the emergency supplies or expert help they need.
