We’re excited to announce that three fantastic teams will be taking on the Dorset Plane Pull Challenge on Monday 31 August, all in support of Home-Start Wessex.

Together, they’ll attempt to pull a 35,000kg Boeing 737 aircraft 50 metres across the runway – a huge challenge that will require strength, teamwork and determination. Most importantly, every pound they raise will help Home-Start Wessex continue supporting local families with young children through some of life’s most difficult times.

Meet the Teams Fundraising for Home-Start Wessex

We’re incredibly grateful to the amazing teams who have chosen to support us this year:

• East Christchurch Sports and Social Club and Christchurch Rugby Football Club, who have joined forces to create one powerful Plane Pull team.
• The fantastic team from Snap Fitness, who are taking on the challenge together to raise funds for local families.
• A dedicated team of individual supporters, made up of volunteers, supporters and members of the community who have signed up to help make a difference.

Every team is giving up their time to train, take on this unique challenge and raise vital funds for Home-Start Wessex. We couldn’t be more thankful for their support.

Why Your Support Matters

At Home-Start Wessex, we support families with at least one child under five who are facing challenges such as poor mental health, isolation, financial hardship, bereavement, domestic abuse and many other difficulties.

The money raised through the Dorset Plane Pull Challenge will help us continue providing volunteer home-visiting, family groups and early intervention support, ensuring local families receive the practical and emotional support they need to build brighter futures.
